LET THERE BE LIGHT

In response to the: Photo of the Week

I’ve always been looking for beauty and Light in the Nature and I ‘ve never really liked photographing things made by humans.

However, last Sunday I saw this beautiful chandelier and suddenly I realized that it’s us, people that can make beautiful things and that we can actually create Light.

Light of peace and love.

As I was sitting in a small palace listening to beautiful carols telling us about peace that was brought to the world I remembered all those horrible things that are happening in our neighboring country. Deserted towns, abandoned houses and shops with broken windows. Fatherless children hiding in the cellars.

As the choir asked the Bethlehem people to “open the door” for Mary and Joseph, I remembered harsh words of some of our politics and I thought that instead of helping the two conflicted nations with killing and destroying I would like to ask them to open the doors of their hearts and start listening and talking.

It’s up to everyone of us to bring Light of peace and love to the world.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

  1. I can appreciate your feelings on man made objects, I often feel we can not make anything with the same level of hi-tech as Nature, but some makers, artists and creators do have some really incredible skills with their materials and with ways of ‘seeing’, that they feel the subject matter to communicate new ideas in very tactile ways. So pleased you did choose to insert the light… enlightening..:!
